Birds of Prey (2020)

This movie had a bad case of horrible marketing. It had like 2 or 3 different names around the time of release. This was an underdog of a movie and it took a page from Deadpool’s book mixed with the previous Suicide Squad. This is probably the only DC movie I could watch over and over again and never get tired of it. It has a tight runtime, fun characters, and badass action scenes. This also allowed girl power to shine through in a fun way that wasn’t heavy-handed. Something as simple as sharing hair ties in the middle of the fight. Margot Robbie obviously steals the show in a fantastic showing of crazy, humor, and badassness. Ewan as Black Mask was a fun choice. It was the perfect balance of silly to fit the tone but he never lost that insanity edge that makes you fear him. The whole movie is amazing and deserves more recognition. Margot as Harley is a Quinntessential casting and will be hard to top.
