Blue Beetle (released 8/18/23)

I feel like I compare DC movies to Marvel but never the other way around. Not sure if that is good or bad yet. This feels like Stark Suit spidey, with the family of Ms. Marvel, and the general world of The Avengers video game. It never felt like it was trying to do its own thing. It was just following similar beats to other things. The villain is too soap opera mustache twirly. No depth, just bad because money. The family dynamic is the strongest part of the movie, but Shazam! already did that. This is a safe movie so it never feels like a bad movie, but on the same token, it doesn’t feel like a groundbreaking movie. I was hoping for more, but it didn’t live up to its full potential.
