Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010)

I love how animation gives superhero storytellers a chance to really show the destructive powers of these gods. There is a fish out of water element with Kara aka Supergirl crash landing on Earth. But this is also a superhero movie so Darkseid and his warriors are the force the good guys have to face. I love the humor sprinkled throughout but at the same time, it’s not afraid to have super serious, almost dark moments. Batman mostly broods about Kara being on Earth but he has a badass Darkseid faceoff. This is also a direct sequel to Public Enemies which I also adored. This is a great DC story.
